GOD IS FOR YOU
You do not have to live intimidated by people, circumstances, or opposition. God proved that He is for you through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Because the Lord is on your side, you can trust Him and take the next obedient step with courage.

God Is for You
Main Scripture: Romans 8:31
Supporting Scripture: Psalm 118:6
What Scripture Says
Romans 8:31 asks, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Paul’s question comes after declaring God’s saving purpose for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. It is not a claim that believers will never experience resistance. The verses that follow mention accusation, condemnation, tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, and sword. Yet none of these can overturn what God has accomplished for us in Christ.
Psalm 118:6 expresses the same confidence: “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” The psalmist acknowledges human hostility, but he refuses to let fear rule him because the Lord is his helper.
Interpretation
To say that God is for you is not to say that He endorses every decision or removes every difficult person and circumstance. It means that, in Christ, God has acted decisively for your salvation and your ultimate good. Romans 8:32 grounds this confidence in the cross: the Father did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all. The finished work of Jesus is the clearest proof that God is not against those who have placed their faith in Christ.
Because Jesus bore our sin and condemnation, the believer does not have to interpret every challenge as evidence of God’s rejection. Opposition may be real, but it is not final. Accusations may be spoken, but they do not outrank God’s verdict. People may withhold approval, but they cannot separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Practical Application
You do not have to spend today shrinking before people, circumstances, or opposition. Before you respond to the intimidating email, enter the difficult conversation, make the necessary decision, or begin the assignment before you, pause and remember: the Lord is on your side.
Courage does not require you to feel no emotion. Biblical courage is choosing to trust and obey God while fear attempts to speak. Let God’s Word—not another person’s reaction—define your posture. You can be humble without being timid, peaceful without being passive, and gracious without surrendering the assignment God has given you.
Today, move forward in faith. Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom, take the next obedient step, and refuse to magnify opposition above the God who is for you.
Prayer
Father, thank You that You are for me and that You are on my side. Thank You for proving Your love through the finished work of Jesus Christ. I refuse fear and intimidation. Give me wisdom for every decision and courage for every obedient step. Today, I choose to trust You and move forward with confidence in Your love and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Based on Romans 8:31–39 and Psalm 118:6.
Practical Application
- Identify one person, circumstance, or responsibility that has been intimidating you.

Reflection Questions
- Where have I been giving human opposition more weight than God’s Word?
- What does the gift of Jesus Christ reveal about God’s heart toward me?
- What is one courageous, obedient step I can take today?
- How can I respond to opposition with both confidence and grace?
Salvation Invitation
God being “for you” is most clearly revealed in what He has done through Jesus Christ. Sin separated humanity from God, but Jesus—the sinless Son of God—died for our sins and rose again. He fully paid the price we could not pay. Salvation is not earned by religious works; it is received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work.
If you are ready to trust Him, you may respond sincerely: “Lord Jesus, I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I turn from trusting in myself and place my faith in You. I receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving me and giving me new life. Amen.”
The words themselves are not a formula; salvation is received through genuine faith in Jesus Christ. See Romans 10:9–10; Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4.
